Stop DWI Office of Traffic Safety

The primary mission of the Niagara County Office of Traffic Safety is to improve the safety of persons in Niagara County regarding vehicle travel, whether it be as an operator, passenger or pedestrian.

A traffic safety coalition has been formed in Niagara County to address traffic safety issues throughout the county. The coalition is comprised of the Niagara County Office of Traffic Safety, Niagara County District Attorney, Niagara County Probation Department, Niagara County Sheriff's Department, Niagara Falls Police Department, Lockport Police Department, North Tonawanda Police Department, Lewiston Police Department, Town of Niagara Police Department, Middleport Police Department, Barker Police Department, Village of Youngstown Police Department, and the New York State Police.

The coalition seeks to accomplish its goals through a cooperative effort of the participants emphasizing education, vigilance, and enforcement of the vehicle and traffic laws and alcohol beverage control law.

This office conducts educational programs throughout the community to industry, schools, church organizations, clubs, and various other organizations on safety driving programs, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, seatbelt programs, including child restraint seats, and the hazards of drinking and driving.
